Maria found yoga by way of community. After 2020, with both boys in school, she began to search for others to connect with. On her first grand solo adventure in many years, she attended an Eclipse event at a local nursery. She was welcomed like an old friend and felt that spark she had been looking for. Practicing at the studio quickly felt like home. The empowering environment created by teachers and fellow students allowed Maria the space to start showing up authentically on and off her mat. 

In the summer of 2024, Maria graduated from the Empowered U 200-hr Yoga Teacher and Leadership Training. She learned how to show up for herself, loved ones, community, and cultivate a life she loves and is proud of. Power Beats is her favorite class and making you sweat is her love language. Maria can't wait to lead students deeper into all the joys of yoga! 

When she's not at the studio, you might see Maria on a long bike ride, curled up with a good book, or beating her boys at Mario Kart.
